Sacramento Neighborhoods in Sacramento County
Sacramento neighborhoods are made up of many areas within the Sacramento City area itself. Old Sacramento or as we affectionately refer to it as “Old Sac” is located on the historic waterfront of the Sacramento River taking up 28 acres with shops, restaurants, and museums not to mention the train.
There is a pedestrian tunnel from Downtown Plaza to Old Sac. You will see wooden sidewalks, horse-drawn carriages and dozens of restored historic buildings which are forever frozen in the late 19th century.
There is even an underground level that was once on the street level that some of the old timers don’t even know about.
With sleek steel and glass towers and the bustling of the metropolis area, the heart of this capitol city has tree-shaded streets lined with elegant Victorian homes. Sacramento neighborhoods grew together from smaller communities and each have a charm of their own. Midtown has an 1890-1910 vintage with a variety of trees that help cool those 90 degree summer temperatures and are breath-taking to view.
