Why Renters Should Buy a House
The question is on the minds of renters, why renters should buy a house? It’s a good question and deserves an answer. Let’s tackle this question and see if any of the reasons make sense to you.
Renters Help Landlord Pay For Their Mortgage
Yes, when you pay rent, this helps the person who owns the house, condo or apartment pay their mortgage but doesn’t put any money toward your homeownership. The Landlord is thrilled since you are putting money in their pockets while their investment property goes up in value. At the whim of the Landlord, the Landlord may raise the rent. But, you don’t have to pay higher rent, you could move. Well, that’s going to cost you some money. Moving costs money whether you move yourself or have others help you since you will need to put down a new deposit and don’t count on getting back the deposit you gave your current Landlord, back. Wonder how many times you will need to move? Hmmm, I see dollar signs!
Painting and Entertaining Are Limited
When you rent, you must ask the Landlord if you can paint. Some Landlords may say yes, others, no. And if you want to have a party with some of your favorite peeps, you might have an issue if there is an adjoining wall not mention the parking issue and noise complaints. Some renters have actually been evicted due to noisy parties. That’s not to say you can have noisy parties if you own a house either but most neighbors are pretty understanding if it’s not an every weekend type of issue. Plus in your own home there is room for more of your peeps than in an apartment. Wouldn’t you just love to have an outdoor BBQ in your own backyard?
Landlords Have Right To Enter
Yes, the Landlord must give the renter 24 hour notice before entering but if it’s an emergency no notice is required. When you own a home, no one will be entering your home. Your home is your castle! Privacy is a major factor in homeownership. And if the Landlord decides to sell the house, not only is this stressful but you will need to find another place to move. Neighbors may not want to welcome you since you are just a renter and not there for the long-haul which doesn’t give the renter a sense of neighborhood or belonging.
