Ways To SAVE and Be Green and Clean
Here are a few ways for you to do your part in reducing Global warming:
- Turn off items in the house when you are not using them (lights, T.V., DVD player, Computer, Printers etc.)
- Turn down central heating and A/C by at least 1 – 2 degrees
- Turn down the water heater about 2 degrees (youll notice a savings)
- Make sure to adjust the central heating and A/C for times when you leave the house. No need to pay and use when you are at work.
- Only use dishwasher and washing machine when you have a full load.
I bet you didnt know: Elk Grove Unified School District in partnership with City of Elk Grove, CA is collecting old tennis shoes and sending them to Nike for reycling.
- Recycling just 1 aluminium can saves enough energy to run a 100 watt bulb for 20 hours, a computer for 3 hours, or a TV for 2 hours.
- The Sunday newspaper in the U.S. wastes about 500,000 trees
- It takes 2,500 tennis shoe pairs recycled to make an indoor/outdoor basketball court surface
- It takes 75,000 recycled tennis shoe pairs to make a running track surface
- 2,500 tennis shoe pairs recycled contributes to a playground surface
- An outdoor tennis court surface uses 2, 500 pairs of recycled tennis shoes
