Sacramento Real Estate is happy to announce there are some fun times this month all around the Sacramento area with October Festivals and Pumpkin Extravaganzas.
It’s time to unwind let go of all the stress and have some good old fashion fun. Forget the foreclosures, bank owned homes, government bailouts and CEO rip offs. Let’s talk about where to celebrate the Fall season and have some fun with the kids.
Put those worries aside for awhile there are some free October festivals and some that cost so make your plans now to attend Sacramento, Elk Grove, Roseville, Midtown, Old Town, Apple Hill, Land Park and Fair Oaks to enjoy the month of October and all the things to do around each of our areas.
If you know of a fun place to go this month in or around the Sacramento area to celebrate Halloween be sure to leave a comment and I will help to feature that event.

Elk Grove has one of the largest festival
celebrations with the Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Harvest Festival. Sacramento & Company and News 10 will sponsor this annual family event Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5th from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at Elk Grove Regional Park. FREE Admission, $5 parking.
This year there is scarecrow contest with $350 prize along with the giant pumpkin weigh off (last year’s winner weighed 1,535.5) There will be plenty of food and games plus a heck of a lot of fun at this event.
If scary is what you are looking for be sure NOT to miss the Scream Extreme Haunted House on October 11, 18 & 25th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. They were voted #1 in Sacramento by KOVR, Channel 13. the Children’s Haunt admission is $7. Enter the haunted house at Scandia 5070 Hillsdale Blvd., Sacramento. Call (916) 860–1827
If you want to be taunted by the haunted then be sure to come October 3rd to November 1st from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm with general admission $15 for the more spooky version. No one under 13 will be admitted to this without an adult. There are wicked tickets on-line that are reduced.
They are wheelchair accessible and special needs friendly with all proceeds benefiting children with Autism.

Mother Lode Orchards, fun for the whole family with barbecues, crafts, art gallery, pumpkin hunting, hay rides and more at 4341 North Canyon Rd., Camino, CA (530) 644–5101. Check out their website for more details.
Plubell’s Family Orchard in Apple Hill where there is PLENTY to occupy your time and your tummy. For young and old alike all during the month of October it’s a great place to pick your pumpkin, eat caramel apples, old-fashioned apple pie and a whole lot more.

Sacramento Land Park’s Fairy Tale Town is hosting the 22nd Annual Safe & Super Halloween, Escape to Neverland on Friday, October 24th thru Sunday October 26, 2008 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. This is a three night extravaganza with tasty treats and family fun. There will be 17 candy stations, live puppet show and bunches of Halloween fun.
Fairy Tale Town will close early at 2:00 pm to prepare for the Halloween fun.
Children under 1 are FREE, all other tickets are $7

Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District is holding its Annual Halloween Carnival 
with games, face painting, candy and more on October 31, 2008 from 11:00 to 4:00 at Plaza Park in Old Fair Oaks Village at the corner of Fair Oaks Blvd. & California Ave. Tickets are 12 for $5

Midtown Sacramento Annual Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 25th local merchants will be giving out treats from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and I hear there will be face painting, too. So dress up in your costume and come see those Midtown Merchants.

A therapist in Sacramento transforms her grand old home for 1 week each year and starts decorating in August for the SPOOKY time of year.
Roseville, CA will be hosting Family Fun Night on October 28th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm right downtown on Vernon Street where there will be free entertainment, magic show, face painting, balloons, clown, spooky reptile show, giant slide and a costume contest with awards for 5 different age groups sponsored by the Downtown Roseville Merchants.
