Sacramento Real Estate At the CA State Fair

Sacramento Real Estate Voice enjoyed the day at the CA State Fair at Cal Expo this past weekend. Only a few days left to attend the CA State Fair. Come see the animals, exhibits, concerts, rides and sample the food. Don’t forget Labor Day marks the end of CA State Fair.
With prices sky high and hopes for a vacation during the Labor Day holiday, this is an excellent alternative. The fair is close by, you can bring food (no glass containers), to cut down on the cost and enjoy an entire day full of activities for all age groups. I recommend you bring water since I paid $3.50 for what should have been no more than $1.50 for a bottle of water.
While at the CA State Fair, I was intrigued by a booth from the CA Sheriffs department which seemed to gather quite a bit of interest especially from the kids. The Sacramento, CA Sheriffs department is the first in the nation to develop a youth program starting from kindergarten on up to age 20 where young people learn to be leaders in their community, with conflict management skills, provide community service and are offered opportunities to learn about law enforcement for career choices.
Sergeant Pamela Irey, Youth Program Coordinator from the Sacramento, CA Sheriff’s Department and Elk Grove Unified School District Board Member showed great excitement when talking about the youth programs. This is a great program for young people. Last year, you may recall, Sergeant Pamela Irey was injured by a bull while saving children at the rodeo.

As you can see Sergeant Pamela Irey is excited about the Youth Program that Sheriff John McGinness has implemented for Sacramento, CA, and rightfully so.
Be sure to check out one of the Youth Cadets from Elk Grove, CA and the touching story of how this little girl survived a boating accident along the Sacramento River at Garcia Bend in the Pocket area, recently. I was told that Consuelo Garcia came by to see the CA Sheriffs Booth to see her friends in the youth program and her mentor, Sergeant Pamela Irey. Just another indication of how the adults running the Youth Program are present in good and bad times for the kids.
Be sure when you go to the CA State Fair which ends on Labor Day to visit the Sheriffs booth and lean what is available for your children and the future of California. There’s a lot to do and see at the California State Fair at Cal Expo so go early and stay late for oodles of fun. I did!
