Can you imagine owning your own home?
Right now, when you drive to your apartment after work you may be lucky enough to drive into a garage but many renters drive into a parking space that may be covered or not. While lugging in the groceries from the parking lot for that get-together you are having during the holidays in your apartment, you start imagining owning your own house.
Want to see what the numbers look like for renting versus owning a house?
Its not easy to entertain in an apartment. Where does everyone park and of course, there is the issue of not making too much noise since those walls are joined together. You start imagining what it would be like to own your own home.
Considering how much you pay in rent and the fact that you are paying someone elses payment so that they can own and take the right offs you start imagining owning your own house or condo. Many times home buyers dont realize that they can afford to buy their own home instead of paying rent.
Start imagining your own home .
Of course the very first step toward responsible home ownership is knowing what you can afford in order to not be house poor. How do you do that? First, you can call me and I will give you several names of reputable Lenders you can talk to.
Does it cost anything to talk to a Lender? No, but it will cost you plenty if you dont and if you dont get a good referral to a reputable Lender.
- Do I really need to talk to a Lender first?
- Cant I just start looking for a house or a condo and then talk to a lender when I find what I want to buy?
No, thats not the responsible way toward home buying.
Since you are not a Lender and arent aware of all the loan programs that fit your particular needs, there is no way for you to know actual payments or how much you qualify to buy. There are costs involved in purchasing a home or condo and the Lender will be able to break those costs down for you.
Remember, that the home loan, the mortgage is something that you, as the home owner will be living with so its extremely important that you, the home buyer take the time to investigate your home loan. Dont just look for the lowest interest rate. There is more to a home loan than just the interest rate.

Why waste time looking for a house or condo you cant afford? Why fall in love with something that is out of your price range? Why miss out on a house or condo you could have purchased but you didnt take the time to get qualified, first?
All of the home buyers I work with know what their payments will be and I assist them in getting the most house or condo that they can afford at the very best price. This is the way to responsible home ownership.
You may not be able to live on the golf course or have that tennis court in your backyard for awhile but I bet we can find you a house or condo that you can afford. You can begin the process of building home equity and moving up to that house that your would love to live in someday.
