Reverse 911 Emergency for Sacramento

911.jpgSacramento, Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, West Sacramento, Roseville, Rocklin, Folsom and Galt as well as all those living in the Sacramento County area should be aware of the NEW Reverse 911 that the Sacramento Police Department is starting.

As you can see, this does not just include Sacramento but it also includes the surrounding areas as well as Sacramento County.

You ask what does this have to do with Real Estate… Not a whole lot but the better you are informed on all aspects, the better! It could actually effect your property which is REAL ESTATE, so I am filing this under Real Estate tips!

We all know to call 911 when there is an emergency but what happens if there is an emergency in your neighborhood? Does anyone call you to let you know? Your home phone number is automatically registered in the Reverse 911 dispatch database but your CELL PHONE numbers are NOT.

If you think about it, most emergencies happen when you are away from your home so the ONLY way you will be informed of an emergency is at your home phone number. Here is your chance to register your cell phone number with Reverse 911 and be notified.

Now, you will be able to know, if you decide to opt in and register with the Sacramento Police Emergency Notification System. Yes, they call you and leave a message about an emergency in your neighborhood. This service once you register, will call you on your cell phone and your home phone when there is a public safety issue, missing person, street closure or weather related issue in the area that you live.

Be sure to register all your cell phone numbers if you wish to be notified in the event of an emergency for all properties that you own. This also applies to those using TTY services. All that is required is to sign-up is your name, address and your cell phone number you wish to be called on in the event of an emergency.  Remember, that your home phone number is already in the database.

This database is being organized and will be available once each of us supplies our cell phone information. This service can be very helpful to all. Please take a moment and register with the Sacramento Police for REVERSE 911.

what a great time to post this. With the fire in Malibu it could save lives to know early. New comers to your area will also want to know this great info.

Thesa, you never know when an emergency will arise and I do hope the readers find it helpful and will sign-up as that is the only way the data base will get the consumer’s cell phone numbers.

The fires down south are causing great destruction and we all hope that they are contained quickly.

That is an interesting service in Sacramento. I’m sure it would have helped the families and neighbors down here in Southern California. The air is a little unhealthful today. I’m not near the fire areas but the ash has carried over to our city.

Jay, actually Southern California has this system as well and they are using it during this fire. That is how they are evacuating different neighborhoods.

It’s real important to register your cell phone numbers where you live so that you too, can be on the Reverse 911 call.
