Why is Buying a House Stressful?

StessOnce the Home Buyer decides to jump in to the Real Estate arena, the first person they should be speaking with is an experienced Realtor who will help guide them and supply them with reputable Loan Brokers.

More knuckle biting occurs when the Home Buyer suddenly must relinquish personal information about their income and debt ratio. Then, the long arduous wait of finding out how much the Home Buyer qualifies to purchase.

Sometimes, its a happy moment and other times its quite sad. There goes another knuckle! Now, for the fun part looking at homes For Sale and determining if this is the best house, best neighborhood, best schools, best location .oh yet another knuckle is bleeding!

Finally, a decision is made and the Offer is written and submitted to the Sellers Realtor. This is just another hair raising stressful situation of not knowing if the Offer will be accepted. Sort of like waiting to see if you are invited to Prom. (Still have a one more knuckle on this hand!)

YES! The offer is accepted and now its time to write a check for the Home Inspection .oooo another knuckle! Anxiously, the Home Buyer awaits the report to see if the house gets an A. Time to start biting knuckles on the other hand especially since the Home Buyer also needs to pay for the appraisal.

You get the picture; this process for the Home Buyer is very stressful from the starting point to the final Loan process and signing. Second thoughts about whether or not its the right thing, the right house, can I afford it are all very stressful for the Home Buyer.

The Seller is stressed just preparing the house For Sale, showing and keeping the house up daily and hoping that they get a Buyer. The Home Inspection, Pest Inspection, Roof Inspection etc. are very stressful times for Sellers awaiting the anticipated reports and calculating how much this is going to cost them.

All the while, hopping that the Buyers didnt get too excited and didnt go out and purchase new appliances and furniture so that their loan doesnt go through very stressful time for the Sellers. Some Sellers have had their homes quite a while and have fond memories that they are leaving behind. Although it is a happy time it is like a double edged sword and can be both a wonderful time and a stressful time.

Not to mention that depending upon the reason for the actual sale there may be even more stress. Patience, an evening walk with your partner, communicating and having an experienced Realtor can help both Home Buyers and Sellers through this life changing experience so that stress is at an all time low.

The more experienced the Realtor, the less the stress for the Home Buyer and Seller. Do you have a story to share about a stressful sale? How do you handle stress that might help others?
